There are two sumptious Villas: "Villa Rufolo" (with its towers in the Sicilians - Normand Moorish style, its little cloisters embroidered in arabesque and the famous tower of Klingsor which dominates the garden) and "Villa Cimbrone" (gem of art where one can enjoy views of the whole luminous bay of Salerno).
Ravello is been founded in the 6th century by a group of Romans who sought refuge here. It was subjected to Amalfi, against which it attempted to rebel.
The other drawing card is the Cathedral, a treasure chest of precious works of art.
